Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at those wishing to upskill from previous training undertaken and those who wish to pursue a course which covers a greater range of knowledge and skills in more depth than introductory courses. The Emergency First Responder course is the recommended starting point to develop a career in the Pre Hospital Emergency Care field.
General Aims
The course will enable the learner to provide pre-hospital emergency care to Emergency First Responder Level.
Method of delivery
The course will be delivered through both theory lectures and practical skills sessions. Throughout the course, a continuous assessment will be employed to ensure progression and to enhance students knowledge and skills.

- The assessment for the course will be split between theory examinations and practical skills demonstrations or OSCE’s.
- This course is accredited by PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council)
- PHECC Cardiac First Response Certificate*
- HECC Emergency First Responder Certificate
- The first day of this course covers Cardiac First Response, it is necessary to complete this before the Emergency First Responder course. If you are a PHECC certified Cardiac First Responder you are exempt from this day of the course
