Entry Criteria

The recommended minimum age for entry is eighteen. Certification in CFR (CFR Advanced or CFR Community). Certification in OFA or First Aid Response within the last 12 months is also acceptable. If participants are not CFR Advanced certified, the module ‘Airway and Ventilation’ must be extended to incorporate the CFR Advanced skill set.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at those wishing to upskill from previous training undertaken and those who wish to pursue a course which covers a greater range of knowledge and skills in more depth than introductory courses. The Emergency First Responder course is the recommended starting point to develop a career in the Pre Hospital Emergency Care field.

General Aims

The course will enable the learner to provide pre-hospital emergency care to Emergency First Responder Level.

Method of delivery

The course will be delivered through both theory lectures and practical skills sessions. Throughout the course, a continuous assessment will be employed to ensure progression and to enhance students knowledge and skills.
